The Zemtsov Viola quartet consists of four members of a special family all playing the viola:
Mikhail Zemtsov
Daiil Zemtsov
Julia Dinerstein – Zemtsov
Dana Zemtsov
Together they perform beautiful and seldomly performed classical compositions and arrangements for four violas. All four have studied (amongst other) at the Maastricht Conservatory with the great Russian Viola virtuoso Michael Kugel. Each of them has developed a distinguished international solo-career. Mikhail is soloist, conductor and teacher at the conservatories of The Hague and Utrecht. Julia teaches at the conservatories in Arnhem and Maastricht and regularly performs as a first Viola-player in various well known orchestras. Daniil replaced his father Alexander in the quartet because of his busy career and Daniil is now studying with Kugel in Maastricht. Dana is very much in demand as a soloist with Orchestras from all over the world.
Their debut performance was in 2010 at the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam. After this outstanding performance they are unconditionally loved by their international and varied public. The way they express their joy for the pieces they play, the viola, each other and their public makes their concerts not to be missed events.
